Anybody paying attention to Lupe’s new album “Lasers”?

I personally love it. For many reasons:

First off there is no excessive blabbing about how much money he has. I listened to Wiz Khalifa’s “Cabin Fever” Mixtape. LOL. If you haven’t heard it, it pretty much goes like this: “blah blah blah, I have so much money, I have so much weed, my money and weed are so much better than yours, I fucked your bitch cuz I’m high, *Wiz Khalifa laugh*, blah blah blah…” Typical Wiz Khalifa right?

Second off I just like Lupe. It’s so sad how underrated he is, how nobody pays attention to him because he doesn’t talk about glamorous things like money, weed, alcohol, and bitches. He talks about things that REALLY matter.

I feel like people are afraid to face the facts, they just want to distract themselves with material things like money and cars. They’re so insecure about themselves they have to listen to songs about fresh kicks and wear the newest Air Forces blah blah blah. (Sorry if I’m wrong, I don’t really pay attention to those kinds of things). They’re so caught up in themselves that they think it’s okay to disrespect their loved ones and family, they take them for granted.

People are so self centered these days giving bullshit excuses like how they got mistreated in the past, or how they need to focus on themselves for survival. How can people live this way?? How can you ignore the facts, what kind of benefits the government are pulling right underneath you’re feet? How can you forget about the people you love you? Because you gotta live and do what you want? Well you keep thinking that way, and in the end nobodys gonna give a FUCK about you.

Lupe may not have good weed like Khalifa. He may not be a fast rapper like Twista. He may not be a great dancer like Chris Brown. He may not swag like Kanye. But you gotta admit he’s got brains. I think we need to shift the mainstream media to more important things.

I hate living in America because everything is given to us so easily. Voting and free education, government support programs, etc. What do we have to worry about? We’ve become lazy pigs, expecting the system to feed us whatever crap they want to give. And we’ll eat it, because we’re too lazy to get up and fight the system themselves. We’ve become dull, stupid, fat, and oblivious to the world, the struggles people have to go through to live the life we live. (Tunisia, Egypt, Moco giving us an automatic 50% for putting our names on the paper?? Really???)  It makes me upset that I just had to post a rant. I wish people would get up and make a change and STOP THINKING ABOUT THEMSELVES. I know it’s hard, it takes courage to be that first one to get up, and make a change. It takes strength to stop drinking and smoking. It takes humility and degradation to love your loved ones, it means making a sacrifice, putting somebody above you. (Think about Jesus, Christian or not)

Before we can make a change we gotta first change ourselves. You think a fucked up generation of pot smokers and alcoholics can do anything? Stop letting the system fuck you in the ass and get the hell up. If we keep going down this downhill path of partying, mindless fucking, binge drinking, we’re going to be screwed because everyone’s minds going to be too numb to realize what’s really going on. Dont’ turn into a pig -_-. Seriously.  

Sorry for the off tangent rant, but when you start thinking about things, they start really getting to you.  I realized I haven’t really stated any specific change I wanted, but perhaps thats something you should decide in yourself. As for me, I’m probably not going to stop drinking and smoking. I’m too weak-minded to do something big like that. I’m too weak to do something good for me, isn’t that crazy? But I got bigger plans, for one, stop being such a self centered person. I want something to fight for, or else what’s the point of mindless, destructive living?
